"Every day is work for me, but it's also a party. I'm the luckiest guy in the world."
- Born Thomas Wesley Pentz on Nov. 10, 1978, in Tupelo, Mississippi
- Diplo began his career as a DJ, and achieved his first taste of major success working as a producer and co-writer on M.I.A.'s 2007 album, Kala, which included the Diplo-produced hit "Paper Planes." That success led to Diplo becoming a very much in-demand studio collaborator, and he has since worked with such artists as Chris Brown, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, Kid Cudi, Shakira, Ariana Grande, and Beyoncé.
- Diplo won his first career GRAMMYs for 2015 for Best Dance Recording with his production duo with Skrillex, Jack Ü, for "Where Are Ü Now" and Best Dance/Electronic Album for Skrillex And Diplo Present Jack Ü. That same year, on the 58th GRAMMY Awards, he made his GRAMMY stage debut, performing "Where Are Ü Now" alongside Skrillex and Justin Bieber.
- Did you know? Diplo took his stage name from the Diplodocus dinosaur, a creature he was fascinated with as a child.
- Diplo has participated in the Recording Academy's Up Close & Personal interview series in Philadelphia in August 2016.
- Diplo co-founded Heaps Decent, an Australia-based arts organizations that provides support and educational programs for students and emerging artists from diverse communities.
